7-String Multiscale

Handbuilt 7-string multiscale nylon-string guitar with oval soundhole by Paul McEvoy Guitars.

I built this guitar as a homage to the great Gary Southwell, whose work I admire greatly. It was a design challenge for me. I started with some design ideas from Gary's Style A Series guitars and then added more asymmetry to the guitar.

It seemed natural to add a 7th string to keep up with the asymmetry. I was very pleased that not only does the guitar look unique, it is a wonderfully responsive and exciting instrument to play.
